I understand the pain and frustration of being anxious all of the time, feeling blue, and riding the roller coaster of ups and downs of Bipolar disorder.
I also understand the stigma that comes with having serious mental health concerns and being a Christian.
Are anxiety, depression, and/or Bipolar disorder part of your story?
Is it creating huge problems for you or just a minor problem for you?
Let’s take depression for example- you could be really, really, depressed right now; and so, you have only been surfing FaceBook and checking your phone and you are drowning in a sea of sadness and hopelessness. Or you could have just a little underlying sadness and are able to get on with your day, and your work without too much of a problem; except in the last scenario, it still feels like something is weighing on your heart, all day, every day, like a lead weight just pressing on you. It makes it hard to move, hard to think, and laughter doesn’t find you easily.
I used to go in and out of seasons of depression for many, many years. My story included the manic highs of Bipolar disorder and two very serious anxiety disorders.
I didn’t just have mild emotional health issues…I was not able to hold down a job…and it affected everything in my life.
I learned how to beat it.
I learned what I needed to do in order to be healthy in my body and healthy in my mind. The two are linked together, and YOU WILL NOT find healing until you deal with BOTH at the same time.
Actually, there is a third component here, as well. True healing will only come when you incorporate your relationship with God. The first two will get you to a good place…but not completely healed.
I despised being a slave to medications in order to improve and stabilize my mood. And I had many of the side effects from these medications, like: weight gain, sexual dysfunction, and inhibited creativity.
It is very possible that your side effects for your medications are different. It is also possible that you are ignoring the side effects because you haven’t been given any other options.
Were you told you would be on bipolar meds for the rest of your life? And that it is just like asthma? Asthma patients take meds all of their life.
That is a straight-up lie!!
I am completely healed from both!
That’s right, I do not take medications for anything…and I was told, just like you were, that I would be on those medications for the REST OF MY LIFE!
It is possible to heal and I can most definitely show you how to do it.
A life healed from mental illness is a life of freedom, of stability, of joy and hope. One where you can pursue your dreams- even those dreams that have been buried in your heart. It is time to get free and start pursuing those dreams!
